Who is eligible for cover
The Care Expatriate policy is tailored to the needs of private and business travellers and those on business assignments or emigrating worldwide. Health insurance can be taken out for long-term trips (stay abroad for at least 6 months up to a maximum of 5 years) up to a maximum entry age of 74 years.

What are the insurance benefits
The benefits cover outpatient, inpatient and dental treatment, as well as preventive check-ups, therapy and medical aids with all licensed physicians worldwide at the normal local fees. In Germany, the maximum insurance period is 5 years. Outside Germany, you can renew this policy as often as you wish until reaching the maximum age. Irrespective of any existing conditions, cover is guaranteed for newborns.

We recommend business travellers and those on business assignments to take out sickness daily allowance policy („Care Cash“). The tarif can be choosen additionally with the health insurance.

What does the insurance cost
International insurance policies for long-term travelers can be tailored to individual needs:

  • three tariff levels with different insurance benefits
  • cover can include or exclude NAFTA countries
  • available insurance excess levels are €0.00, €150.00, €500.00 or €1000.00

The monthly premium for Care Expatriate international insurance depends on age. For a 28 year-old person, for example, the health insurance costs €58.00 per month for a stay worldwide excepting the NAFTA countries. You will find the right premium in the Table of Premiums in the follow-on pages to the tariff.

Taking out insurance
You can take out an international policy directly online and, after your application has been checked and approved, will receive your insurance documents by e-mail within a few minutes. You can also use these for a visa application. In addition we will send you the full insurance documentation, including the policy, by post within two working days.

Health insurance abroad for foreign visitors - Care Economy
Who is eligible for cover
The Care Economy international policy is tailored to the needs of foreign guests and visitors within the European Union (EU) and the Schengen States. Health insurance for foreign nationals can be taken out up to the insured’s 75th birthday and has a maximum duration of two years.

What are the insurance benefits
The benefits cover outpatient, inpatient and dental treatment by all licensed physicians worldwide at the normal local fees. The provided insurance cover complies with all the requirements for a Schengen-Visa made by the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union by 07/13/2009. Care Economy international health insurance also covers the host, in particular, against most financial risks of a formal obligation (Verpflichtungserklärung). A combination with Care Protector accident/liability policy reduces the remaining risks from a formal obligation significantly.

What does the insurance cost
The premium for the Care Economy international insurance depends on the duration and age. For those between 0 and 64 years old, the total premium for 30 days, for example, amounts to one time EUR 30.00.

From 120 days term of insurance in addition we will send you the full insurance documentation, including the policy, by post within two working days.
